Wet hot Kiwi summer by Alessia Belsito-Riera

Slip, slop, slap, and wrap, kids, it’s time to flip flop your way to summer camp at The Fringe Bar on the 2nd of February. But don’t get your togs in a twist, for this isn’t your typical tents and talent show… It’s Beach Boys! A Camp Summer Time Cabaret.

“Summer can be a hard time for performers, so what better way to beat the heat and splash around in swimwear,” organiser Willy SmacknTush [pictured] gushes.

The campy summer-themed cabaret will bring you back to the good old days, when the orange hues of summer burned on the horizon, the school year a distant memory. The smell of sunblock, salt, and saussies wafts through the air, the radio top 100 floats on the breeze. The sun is high, your skin burns red, and every day is endless.

Camp counsellors are at the ready with loads of activities planned to keep you entertained. Get into some trouble with Ms Vicky Weeds, Allikins Jerome, Rocky Rhodes, Jez and Jace, Vincent Temple, Sir Traylene, Velma Cherry, S.S. Lullaby, The Just Kens, and the award-winning Willy SmacknTush, who is beyond excited for this stacked roster.

“We have a huge cast for this cabaret. With duets and group numbers, it’s such a good bang for your buck. Whether you’re a fan of comedy, improv, burlesque, drag, or pole, this show has got it!”

There is more than Kenough to go around. Their job is beach, yours is to soak up the heat at Beach Boys! A Camp Summer Time Cabaret.
