Reb Fountain’s last two records were released in lockdown during the COVID-19 pandemic. And so, the genre-defying singer-songwriter exclaims, “releasing How Love Bends has felt amazing!”
Unveiled last month on the 7th of March, Fountain says it’s “been so great to share our music and get out and talk to folks, visit record stores, and play live to airs”.
Feedback for the album – which guides listeners through limitless explorations of love, life, and loss – has been wonderful, with the multi-award-winning artist always heartened to hear from folks who listen to her music.
“I get messages from fans via New York to Netherlands, Southland to Singapore and to be honest these connections mean the most to me. I love talking to gig goers after a show – having a brief but intimate kōrero with people who have been touched by our music makes my night.”
No surprises then that Fountain is fizzing for the How Love Bends Album Release Tour, which will see her full band pour raw emotion, compelling storytelling, and an intensity that will leave a lasting impact out on The Opera House stage on the 2nd of May.
Showcasing Fountain’s ever-expanding artistry in a rich swathe of brazen, unapologetic, complex colours, How Love Bends was created with the expanse of such a grand theatre in mind – so audiences are in for a wild ride.
“If you’ve seen us play before you’ll know that we give it all on stage”, she delights. “For those who aren’t so familiar, The Opera House is the venue to come and experience our live show. We’ll be there with you 100 percent and are looking forward to a majestic evening with you all.”
