Fright meets fabulousness at Nightmare on Cuba Street, Ivy Bar & Cabaret’s Halloween drag show starring glittering ghouls Faux Femm, Adamant Eve, Ness Quick, Veronica Heart, Judas Kiss, and Rocky Rhodes. The spooktacular evening of camp, comedy, and killer performances will feature wickedly good looks, hair-raising numbers, and a hauntingly fun atmosphere. I asked organiser Faux Femm what tricks and treats she has up her sleeve for the 31^st of October.

What makes dressing up for Halloween so fun?

Halloween is your get-in-drag free card! You can be as confident, geeky, or scary as you want, because everyone around you is also doing it. You can be your favourite TV show character, a sexy version of just about anything, or even a horrendous meme come to life.

Will the Nightmare on Cuba Street costumes be sexy or scary?

They’ll definitely make your stomach drop, your eyes pop, or your heart stop – ideally all three! It’ll be a fever dream where the Corpse Bride, Black Swan, and Jennifer’s Body have a turbulent love triangle, all while Jigsaw and the Bride of Frankenstein try to outdo each other in severed body parts.

What should we get excited about?

Halloween is like drag Christmas! You get to be messier, scarier, and nastier than any other time of year. We have a stellar cast, half of whom have been in Anti-Pageant, an annual horror drag competition. There will be brides, blood, and beasts; creatures, features, and screechers – so come to the lab and see what’s on the slab!
